Day 68

Every Wednesday during Early Release, Harvest teachers gather together in their grade level teams or Site Teams (AVID, GLAD, PBIS, and IB) to share ideas and talk about supporting students.  We are better together!

Day 67

Yearbook class is learning how to design and tell the Harvest story.  Students are spending time during Advisory and Super Saturday Academy to create the Yearbook.  You can get your yearbook pre-ordered today for $35.  After Winter Break, the price becomes $40.

Day 66

AVID 8 classes toured Sonoma State University today.  Mrs. Gould's class met the President of SSU and took their picture.  Harvest AVID students are high school ready and college bound!

Day 65

Harvest celebrated "Get to Know Your Classmate Day".  During lunch, students participated in activities led by our Wellness Center and Leadership class that supported students getting to know their classmates.

Day 64

Garden class in partnership with Embassy Suites had a salsa competition.  The chef at Embassy Suites taught the students how to make salsa and a team of Embassy Suite employees helped teams create their salsa.  Students voted on the salsa.  Great hands on learning.

Day 63

Harvest 8th grade students participated in the Community Project launch.   Napa High School students shared their Senior Project experience to help Harvest students understand the important skills.  Students joined their new Advisory teams and created a team name and chant.  For part of the day, students had the opportunity to start their Community Project.  Our 8th graders are high school ready and college bound.

Day 62

All students at Harvest Middle School have the opportunity to play in the band, sing in the choir, and/or play in the orchestra.  These three Harvest students are learning and practicing for the upcoming Winter Concert.  Way to go Hawks!

Day 61

A new addition to the Harvest Performing Arts Department is Theater.  These Harvest 7th graders are practicing their scene that they wrote and will perform for their class.  Theater is a semester long course at Harvest that is open to all students.

Day 60




Students at Harvest Middle School all learn the design cycle.  During 5th grade tours, our 8th grade students explained the design cycle and how they create using the cycle.


Day 59

7th Grade is kicking off their next unit in Language and Literature.  All 7th grade student met the author of Stealing Home, Patsy Ann Taylor, Napa Native.  Students had the opportunity to hear her story and ask questions.

Day 58


Language Acquisition 6th grade students celebrated el Dia de los Muertos after learning how different countries celebrate.  Student built altars and cooked food to celebrate.

Day 57

Our 8th Grade students at the opportunity to attend the Napa Valley Film Festival.  A few students went on stage with some of the actors and all students were able to watch a film.

Day 56

6th graders at Harvest are spending the next week and a half learning about the creation of a safe, respectful and responsible digital footprint.  Librarian, Deb St. Clair, is teaching all 6th graders digital literacy as a part of Language and Literature.

Day 55

AVID Excel prepared for their first round of scholar groups.  Students are learning how to use academic language and collaborate to deepen their learning.

Day 54

Today Harvest Middle School and Embassy Suites were honored by Napa Learns for the partnership between business and education to support student learning.  Embassy Suites spends time teaching our students about the hospitality industry by providing hands-on experience such as cooking demos.  Our garden students produce vegetables that are used in the restaurant at Embassy Suites Napa Valley.  We are thankful for our partnership!

Day 53

One of the most effective and powerful strategies for learning is teaching students where they currently are in the learning process and how they can get to the next level.  6th grade students are reviewing the learning log that identifies where they are in the writing process and talking about how they can improve.
